BIO:
Melanie Taylor works on the Assessing Teacher Learning About Science Teaching project, an NSF-funded research study. Her primary role on that project is to assist with the development of tools to assess teachers' and students' opportunity to learn in three areas of science: force and motion, processes that shape Earth, and flow of matter and energy in living systems. Ms. Taylor also assists in the evaluation of professional development materials for the Constructing Ideas in Physical Science curriculum and in the evaluation of the Consortium for Achievement in Mathematics and Science project which plans to improve the mathematics and science instructional programs for students in four New Jersey school districts.
